  • This is a good question you ask and a metaphor. It makes believers wonder why didn't God just write The 10 Commandments in one tablet. After all, nothing is impossible with God. I would say the two tablets were used (due to), the lawgivers of Israel, one being Moses and the other Jesus who said... Matthew 22:36-40 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? 37 And He said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."

This is my answer, and this is what I believe. You have not challenged anything I've said in my answer to say it is not even close. Since my answer doesn't suit what you are looking for, wait until you get other answers from different users or you can share an answer yourself, letting everyone know your views. Other than that, you are nobody to be telling users who gets your question right and who gets it wrong, as "opinions" differ. The heck what you think. *Facepalm*

Oh You are upset because you have limited your understanding of the Bible. I am only trying to make you think on a larger scale. You are blessed.

There are two plaques with the 10 commandments Also known as the 10 Statements. On the first plaque are the first 5 Commandments that are between the Lord and the people giving praise to the Lord. The second plaque are the last 5 Commandments between man and man. These are as given in Matthew 22:35-39. To love the Lord with all you are and the second to love others as yourself.

An answer is an answer whether you agree with it or not. You are not making any sense with your plague remarks. If you want to answer your question, share an answer and post it, since you won't be getting anywhere with me in the comments section.

My answer is perfectly justified, as it is in context with your question. The Bible was never meant to be taken literally, but symbolically. So you are going to get all sorts of opinions from different believers.

  • Because he used large size print for the near sighted. 12/10.23
  • There is a great deal of potential symbolism there. I'd argue that no one really knows the true answer, though. Some thoughts: There are several commandments that deal specifically with how to worship and the rest deal with how to live life. The two categories of commandments might reflect two subsets of commandments. This could also symbolize having one eye on God and the other on one's own affairs. It could also symbolize the fact that Moses broke the original tablets and replaced them, thus being two sets of the commandments. It could also symbolize the old covenant and the upcoming new covenant. It could also just be that God's finger is really big, so He needed more surface area than what was convenient for one piece. Or it could just be a made-up story with no historical accuracy anyway. Not like anyone has any reputable claim on where the original tablets wound up. For an item supposed to have such magical power, that seems fishy to me.
