Being a self-confessed "nerd", I do admit that D&D players seem to be the extreme epitome of the classification. Of course, there was that one woman "trekker" who showed up to jury duty in a uniform from the original series -- she may tip the balance a little bit. My general sense is that D&D players seem to be the least socially adept of all nerds, based on my friendships in nerd-dom.

ive never been a lover of Dungeons&Dragons or Star Trek. I do know friends who have an obsession for the show & although i find it pretty odd...id personally find it odd-er if they were playing d&d =
-
i say both are equally as nerdy
-
my favourite dork has both qualities. :) and i love him for it.
-
I've known many non-nerds who love Star Trek. I don't know anyone that plays D&D, so they must be nerdier.
-
Personally, I think that D&D players are nerdier than Trekkies (or Trekkers, whatever they're calling themselves now), because you have to be really, really, really, really into D&D to even be able to play the game. Oh, and just for some additional nerd info, Doom nerds are the least nerdy of the nerds, because we appreciate a double barrled shotgun's ability to hold back demon hordes.
-
I would say Star Trek because I know a LOT of kool guys that play D&D and you dont have to get into d&d but u can, but with star trek they have opinions like stupid old star trek and new!
-
I have to say that Trekkies are more nerdier to me. Have no fear though. Being a nerd isn't that bad.
-
6 guys playing D&D all weekend wearing star trek shirts.
-
A Trecker - the show is ok, but some of them go a bit far with it.
-
They need to have one final episode of Star Trek where they mistakedly go to the Star Wars planet, and Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers slay all those pricks.
-
Dungeons and Dragons.
-
Trekkies - by far! Love 'em! Alway's find they make great friends too. Only knew a few D&D players - so they are probably fun as well, just always seem t' be to busy to bother with nonparticipants. Trekkies always seem more open for friendships with "other lifeforms". LOL That may be why they only "seem" more nerdy.
-
I love both both & consider both of them equally nerdy.
-
I don't really care one way or the other. I'm not in either crowd and never have been. If someone is delusional either way i just consider them border line mentally ill. ;)
-
Trekkies for sure. But I am neither.
-
Definitely a Dungeons and Dragons player.
-
D and D is about 1000 times nerdier in my mind
-
if you are talking about the people within each group who dress up in charactor I would say D&D are nerdier... but I would say that the following of anime has a higher percentage of people who go to that nerdiness extreme
