  • She writes in an easy-to-understand lingo, using only basic words and rarely reaching for more expressive ones. This is why the books do so well. It's a nice story that people of all reading ages and intelligence levels can enjoy. She's also a very very rich mediocre writer.

  • She really is brilliant storyteller and that is reason why she has about 170 mil. $ on her account. But is her work so imaginative or is she targeting Hollywood. It was real easy for Hollywood studios to make Harry Potter movies.
  • This answer sums up her talents quite well. Sometimes her narrative structure isn't very cohesive, especially after book 4. Her prose is very wordy. Also, she tends to just throw together an alphabet soup of archetypes and magical creatures without really connecting them into the overall story line or giving them symbolic/thematic significance. Although her artistic unity is lacking, the books are quite successful in their primary purpose: to enthrall the reader.
