I'm sorry you feel yuck today! For real, too and not just an example of compassion! Please let me know if I can help.
    • Rick Myres
I hope you feel better soon.
    • Cry me a River
      Thanks peeps.
    • Rick Myres
      You're welcome
  • It is hard to forgive but it is possible.
  • I remember in grade school when some adults put on a skit about compassion. It was a big city school way back in the early integration of psychology in schools. And then we went on some tv show and painted pictures and I was wearing a green jump skirt with a white shirt slip (incidentally something I haven't seen much since then!) I think compassion is essential and it gets lost sometimes online especially if someone is pushing your buttons. But I think there should be a limit as well. You can't just give everyone everything they want, and you can't just be a yes person if you're not being honest. Balance is key.
  • Some people I have known over the years said "I just can't find it in me to forgive him/her". Back then I was not a Christian when I thought I was one and did not know the verse about it and agreed with them. Matthew 6:15 King 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
  • Many people think compassion is a form of weakness. If you look at this way, csompassion is what the strong exhibit to experience another person's difficulty. Any resentments, anger and unforgiveness will take away peace and joy from your life.
    • Rick Myres
I know it is not a weakness because of who it comes from God helped me with it.

God's character embodies the definition of compassion.
  • Compassion is good in some cases. Bad in others.
  • I'm not a fan of it. :P
    • Rick Myres
I don't know why not. Compassion is showing you care.
    • Archie Bunker
But what if sometimes you don't care? Sometimes compassion is weakness, and weakness invites violence.
    • Rick Myres
We are supposed to always show compassion Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
    • Wakko
Yeah, well, I'm also not interested in being anyone's doormat after they mistake my compassion for a week-long stay. :P
  • One of the greatest demonstrations of compassion is written in Matthew 8:3 when Jesus cured a leper and stretched out his hand to touch him. This is significant because it was not necessary for Jesus to touch the leper in order to cure him. Jesus took the man’s feelings into consideration and showed compassion despite the appearance of the person he cured.
    • Rick Myres
That is how Jesus always was then and is now.
  • we need rnore of it
