Does the U.S. have any hemp crops, which states allow people to apply for a license?

a few years ago some native american tribe tried growing some hemp but got stopped. they brought suit in court but were denied. i'm not sure, but i think they're still fighting. if they're truly sovereign as the treaties say they are then they should be allowed to grow hemp, it's not a drug, what's it going to hurt? stupid politicians!
