• The bribe definitely is not legal in the US or even if it's in a foreign country. They passed a law about 10 years ago that U.S. companies can't bribe foreign officials in other countries. So the company would probably die if it was ever found out -- which is fairly likely these days. Stakeholders would not want to loose all of their investment and also possibly go to jail. Ethically, you're not just talking about a bribe, but also corrupting the way you company does business. One dirty deal would tend to lead to another dirty deal. Unless you wanted that to be the ethics of the company -- where an employee could bribe a boss for a promotion -- them it would violate company ethics.
