Is an naturalized US citizen from Morocco an African American?
I find it problematic that only people from or descended from sub Sahara Africa are considered African American. I mean last I checked there is North Africa too.

I've always thought of it as Ancestry - American and "I believe" African applies any part of Africa.

The only actual "African-American" I know is a white dude from Swaziland. All the rest of the "African-Americans" I know hail from the far-off land of South Jersey.
