  • Hmmm I suppose along with treatment and the willpower to fight maybe just maybe!
  • Faith, or any sort of positive thinking, has a great potential to improve health (as demonstrated by the efficacy of placebo pills in scientific experiments). Should it be used as the primary or the only treatment to cure cancer? Never.
  • i think prayer together with medicine can help cure cancer. the more you pray the better and the more people that pray - well you know what they say about when 2 or more people pray together ... check out this site - you can post prayer request there http://theopenprayer.com/
  • If it can raise the dead, it should be able to cure the cancer. Mark 9:23 (New King James Version) 23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
  • No. The reason why is here: http://whywontgodhealamputees.com/god5.htm
  • All I can say where there is life, there is hope and there is a future and there is an expected end. God's will be done while we believe and trust in him.
  • No, but God can, if he will. Most times when cancer is healed, God uses normal medical treatments to do it, though, so don't refuse treatment and then blame God for not curing someone's cancer.
  • Prayer will give you peace of mind. Your positive mind set will help heal your body. Step by step the cells will fight the disease and you will feel better. So it will be a positive factor and if you believe your cancer can be cured.
  • Together with treatment it can! I have seen it first hand. My cousin at 2 1/2 years old was stricken with Neuroblastoma, at the time it was a rare cancer. My aunt and uncle were told by doctors that they didn't think he'd get better, even worse if he did there was an 80% chance he would get it again by age four and wouldn't make it through that time. This mind you is at Riley Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis, IN....one of the best childrens hospitals. Prayer first went all across the US. Then we were getting calls and e-mails from across the GLOBE from people that were praying for this child, peopel we didn't even know. Through treatment and prayer he became cancer free within a year. What about the 80% chance that it would be back by age four?? Well, he just turned 7 in August and when he goes in for his scans every six months they can't even find a questionable speck!!! I believe that God through prayer and treatment can cure cancer.
  • PLease, for the love of...Chuck Norris (God seems like a bad example!) dont count on it.
  • Yes. Prayer absolutely can cure cancer. In fact, prayer, like God himself, can do anything. Just remember that prayer like everything in the Universe is subject to God's will.
  • No it can not.
  • No I am afraid it cannot,it does not matter how much you believe or how hard you pray. maybe now and then there is a miracle but do not count on it.
  • Prayer ALONE would not. But coupled with the best medical attention and will on the part of the patient to get well, it could be cured.
  • I believe that prayer can help anything...that's all I'm saying! LOL I'm not trying to have someone jump all over my ass about it...
  • Pope John, who had convened the Council, died from cancer in 1963
  • The body has the capacity to cure certain cancers and God has the power to cure anything. Prayer is communication that can call upon God and activate the body's resources.
  • no, my mum passed away a year and four days ago. from cancer. we all prayed, but then again, she was in pain, so maybe god thought it would be better for her with him; no pain at all.
  • Nothing is impossible with God (Jeremiah 32:27, Luke 1:37). God cand do it through prayer or through the doctors. We should not discount the work of doctors but we should never discount Divine intervention. Chester http://www.prayer-for-cancer.com

  • Bwaaaaa haaaaa! ROFL!
  • One can't deny that.God has that power to cure. Make sure to take the best medical care also. May God bless the sufferer
  • ALL THINGS are possible with God Luke 1:37 - Even a new limb!
  • No ... the prayer itself can not ... however, a divine response from God, following the prayer can.
  • Some believe so....
  • I know it can because Iam living proof of it.
  • it helps positive thinking in a patient
  • I've heard people say this; I come from a very religious family so more often than not a relative will refuse to seek any professional help with their medical problems because "God will take care of me." The list of maladies God will cure for them includes cancer, kidney failure, addictions, concussions... just about everything, really, because God's a swell guy like that. I would ask them for their personal stories to relay to you, but then I'd need a really good medium and I just don't know where I'd get one at this hour. Point is (and I'm not trying to be a buzzkill here) that prayer is fine and dandy but it just can't compete with chemo.
  • In 2006 the National Institutes of Health (NIH) did a study on the effects of prayer for patients about to undergo coronary-artery bypass grafting (CABG). There were three groups of patients: Group One was told it would be prayed for. Group Two was told that it may or may not be prayed for, and then was prayed for. Group Three was told that it may or may not be prayed for, and then was not prayed for. The conclusions were rather the opposite of "prayer heals". 59% of the "we know we're being prayed for" people experienced complications, compared to 52% of those who were uncertain whether or not they were being prayed for. 52% of those patients who were prayed for (regardless of what they were told) experienced complications, compared to 51% of those who weren't prayed for at all. The conclusion that can be drawn from this? If you want to avoid complications in your surgery or illness, beg people to NOT pray for you. NIH study: Study of the Therapeutic Effects of Intercessory Prayer (STEP) in cardiac bypass patients: a multicenter randomized trial of uncertainty and certainty of receiving intercessory prayer. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16569567) "CONCLUSIONS: Intercessory prayer itself had no effect on complication-free recovery from CABG, but certainty of receiving intercessory prayer was associated with a higher incidence of complications." Of further interest was Sir Francis Galton's own essay on this topic in the Fortnightly Review of August 1, 1872 (excerpts: http://www.fasebj.org/cgi/content/full/20/9/1278), where he proposed an inquiry "into the longevity of persons whose lives are prayed for; also that of the praying classes generally; and in both those cases we can easily obtain statistical facts." He noted that, from time immemorial, public prayer each Sunday had been offered from The Book of Common Prayer for the long life of the Royal Family of England—"Grant him/her in health long to live." He asked, "Now, as a simple matter of fact, has this prayer any efficacy?" Culling data from records of over 6500 biographies assembled by a colleague, Galton found that intercessory prayer offered on behalf of those who knew they were prayed for was bad for one’s health. It turned out that members of royal houses had a mean life expectancy of 64.0 years, significantly less than that of other aristocrats (67.3 yrs) or of other gentry (70.2 yrs). Since the royals knew they were being prayed for—we might say that each Sunday they were on the same page as their subjects—they were as much at risk for a worse outcome from prayer as were Dr. Benson’s CABG patients. So the conclusion is clear: PRAYER KILLS. If you love someone, and they are sick, then you shouldn't pray for them to get better because they will get worse as a result of your prayers. And if you insist on putting their lives at risk in this manner, by all means reduce the ill effects of your "prayer actions" by telling them that you will NOT pray for them!
  • I have proven to montifiore medical professionals that there is a link between medical and spiritual healing. Twenty years ago I had challenged the power advanced stage 4 metastatic colon cancer had over whether you die or live. I told doctors that I would be cured because I accepted the spiritual dominance GOD has over life and death. I had 10 surgeries and suffered progressive infestation of the spine. After a massive tumor surrounded and collapsed my L1 and L2 lumbar vertabres. I participated in a experimental protocol. I relized that disease all have one thing in common. They first attack you living spirit. And they don't exist as a lifeform until you acknowledge its presents. That electrical energy that burst of adrenalin creates the life given power of associated with the discovery of a cancer tumor. the spiritual energy needed to bring life to a benign lifeless cell provides the element of cancers power over your submission to your life forces true power to create life from lifelessness.
  • No. Proof does not produce truth. Nor is it the final judge of of what is or is not true. There are many things that are true that cannot be proven. The question was asked in a religious context which was unfortunately categorized under the social sciences. Religion is not a science. There may be overlaps, but it is not discerend with the scientific method. I might also interject that science is not a religion in the interest of fairness and does not need to take religious values into account in its quest for proof.
  • “We cannot understand the great things he does, and to his miracles there is no end.” Job 9:10 “Keep safe what has been entrusted to your care. Avoid the profane talk and foolish arguments of what some people wrongly call “Knowledge.” For some have claimed to possess it, and as a result they have lost the way of faith.” Timothy 6:20 Jesus answered them. “Have faith in God. I assure you that whoever tells this hill to get up and throw itself in the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen; it will be done for him. For this reason I tell you: When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for. And when you stand and pray, forgive anything you may have against anyone, so that your Father in heaven will forgive the wrongs you have done.” Mark 11: 22-25 So Jesus answered her, “Your are a woman of great faith! What you want will be done for you.” And at that very moment her daughter was healed. Matthew 15:28 “God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in time of trouble.” Psalms 46:1 “And we have this confidence in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, we know that what we have asked him for is ours." 1 John 5:14-15 "I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life." John 6:47 Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who do not believe in You, and of those who as yet do not know You, but who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Draw them to the light of the Gospel. These souls do not know what great happiness it is to love You. Grant that they, too, may praise the generosity of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.
  • God can.
  • I have witnessed a person's cancer get cured. She came to church the day before her surgery to remove a tumor. The whole church got up and circled her and prayed. The next day the doctors opened her up and the tumor was gone!!! She came to church to report it and we were all amazed and gave the glory to God for His miracle.
  • It's not the prayer that can cure the cancer-it is God who does it. There is a man at my church who had cancer in his bladder. He told the pastor about it, and the pastor said that he felt that the Holy Spirit was telling him to lay hands on him where the cancer was, and pray. So he did, and he literally FELT the healing power of God go through him. He went to the doctor a few days later for more xrays, and the cancer was GONE. God can do ANYTHING, if we just have enough faith in Him.
  • I believe God answer prayers for those who have cancer.I know few people got healed from cancer through intercessory prayers.
  • Last time we heard from her was 2 years ago. I guess she should have stayed with the chemotherapy.
  • Prayer alone can not cure cancer. It is a form of meditation & is relaxing to the soul. It helps a person put their thoughts in order. Being of a religious mind, I know that God does not answer all prayers exactly the way we want. Prayer is a good and positive thing no matter what the outcome is.
