  • When my central air unit went out...told me he needed 6000.00 to fix it. Yeah..uh huh.
  • We recently put in a new shower in our basement, he had to connect all the pipes, the job took 5 hours. I shudder to think how much it will cost.
  • Actually, repair men aren't allowed at my house anymore - the last time one came to my apartment, he was there to "fix" my already functioning air conditioning unit - neither myself nor my husband had called for any maintenance to be done. My husband walked in the house and the guy was on my computer. He shut everything down and left (my hubby isn't as vocal as I am) and when my husband checked the history, he had been there for at least an hour on various web sites. I don't trust repair men anymore.
  • I had to call on the landlord to light the pilot on my heater.
  • I never had a repairman for the house but had a repair man come and fix my washing machine, that was back in 72 I since learned how to repair them myself.
  • I think about five years ago, I called a plumber when my sewer backed up, I am not touching that S*&%, LOL. I do all the other repairs myself.
  • I am the repair man in the house, or thats what my wife belives. last time she called me was last night after I went to bed to fix a drain that was draining too slow, Damit I'm a soldier not a Plummer. So I put a stick of C-4 on the pipe and blam no more washroom, no more problem, not really though I'll fix it tonight.

  • Four days ago. Water heater was leaking gas and we ended up having to replace the whole unit. The joys of being a homeowner...
  • Tuesday - my brand new dishwasher was leaking!! Thank goodness they couldn't charge me. He left a copy of what it would have cost and it was $80 just for them to walk in the door.
