Yes, IMO it is. But ten times is a bit much! 2 or 3 times is enough. Plus a second reason is that if u measure it and think it is 30cm then cut to 30cm but then find out u needed 50cm u need to go buy a new thingy!

We're building our own house right now. You cannot measure 10 times or cut times times and get anything done. Just measure twice and be done with it.
