If you're singing out of boredom, try tuning the radio to a talk only station. Or, play a non-musical CD like a audiobook or foreign language learning CD. Also, try putting something in your mouth like chewing gum. Or, use the time to brush your teeth.

Hearing is passive and listening is active. Ears to hear and brains to listen. At times sound will motivate, simulate and seduce even the most reluctant. Invite your lover to the shower and “sing” together If this doesn’t work perhaps they’ll ask Scottie to beam you up.

I think this is really sweet and if your family are making fun of you I bet its in a teasing sort of way which people ususally do with others they are fond of. SING, SING, SING til your hearts content..
