Kazaa does, and I believe BearShare does, but it still ran even after I removed the spyware with AdAware. Last time I installed it, WinMX was spyware free.

The short answer is they ALL do. However there is a crack to Kazaa called Kazaa Lite K++. They stripped all the adware, nagware and spyware and still functions fully. There is even bad IP list to watch for bogus downloads although its not perfect. The screensavers had a link. The same folks have stripped the ad/nag/spy warez from Realplayer and Quicktime also. Actually, from I've read, Xolox is one of the few that doesn't install any spyware on your computer. Go to zdnet or cnet.com and see for yourself. Xolox is a great file sharing utility btw, but I'm too scared of the RIAA police to use it, dammit.

As mentioned before, the bigger, more popular clients tend to contain quite a bit of adware, and probably some spyware. That would include clients like Kazaa, Bearshare, or iMesh, for example. Although there is a new(er) client out and about called Limewire, claiming to include no adware or spyware. And from my knowledge, it has none. It connects to the Gnutella network, which is quick and rich in content. If you're not looking for individual files, but whole albums rather, there is yet another useful client out called, Soulseek. It's pretty easy, and reminds me a lot of the early Napster. Though, be advised that downloading full albums is only legal if you own the album, and downloading content you haven't paid for at all is considered illegal. The RIAA is cracking down.

To add to the other suggestions - Shareaza is a freeware, open-source filesharing program which is free of spyware/adware. You can use it to connect to networks such as Gnutella2 and eDonkey, and it also has a powerful BitTorrent client as well. http://www.shareaza.com/

I also believe Soulseek does, which isn't the greatest, since its mainly for sharing non mainstream music. But they have chat rooms for types of music, and many other features. I personally like it.
