Help answer this question below.
The solution with putting the key in and turning the lock was already tried, and of course it didn't work, do you have any other suggestions.
I've answered this kind of question before but here we go again:
1) Put key in ignition (don't turn it just put it in)
2) Place right hand on key, left hand on steering wheel
3) With left hand, move the steering wheel back and forth while at the same time trying to turn the key with the right hand.
4) Eventually (usually within seconds) the steering wheel lock will disengage and both will turn freely.
5) Next time remember to actually read the owner's manual located conveniently within 3ft of the driver inside the vehicle, instead of making me answer a question I shouldn't have to.

You're reading I have a 1999 Nissan Altima, automatic with an alarm system, the key does not turn in the ignition and it will not start what's the problem?
