No. Not all answers are THAT good to deserve them, in my opinion. I have my (admittedly imperfect) method of grading. Don't ask. : )

I did when I could only give a couple points. Now I decide as I go how many points I think a question/answer is worth.

No, sometimes when I read a series of answers I think that one or two of them answer the question even better than the others, so I give the ones I think are the best full marks and the others a bit less. I hardly ever give points for questions, I don't know why.

I usually do unless I get an answer that there was obviously was little to no effort put into it and then I may give less but that is pretty rare.

Usually, but not always. Particularly if someone is down-rated, and I thought it was a bad answer, but not worth down-rating, I'll just put them back to 0 again.

Most of the time, I do. If an answer is rude or mean, I will give negative points, but if it's just an answer I don't agree with, I just don't give any pts.

Yes, I've been trying to break myself of the habit of seeing an answer I like and automatically giving it full points, then seeing another that I think is better, and wishing I'd done more of a sliding scale kind of thing, if that's the right phrase.

Always the maximum. Although if i downrate someone then during the discussion they show me I was wrong in the downrating, but I still do not want to uprate them then I will add +1 as you can not go back to 0 once you rate someone.

1) I never downrate 2) by rating answers to my questions, I give the maximum if the answer is not nonsense or spam/offensive 3) by rating questions which I am answering, I very often do not give points to the question before I see a feedback for my answer (points and /or comments). After this, I very often give the maximal points. 4) by rating questions that I am not answering or answers to questions that I did not ask, I choose how much points I give. If I chance upon a submission which got negative points without being nonsense or offensive, I usually give them so much points I can to bring them at least back to zero.

To my knowledge i have down rated only a couple of times as the stuff were abusive and based on rasist thinking.Thats what made me sick.I not only down raterd but flagged too. People here are nice and sober now so theres no need to down rate.I upgrade every thing to a max ,as 3 is what i can give at a time.

No, I do use the rating scale. Not everything is either 6 or 0 to me. I've noted I make an exception in questions of mine that ask for opinion. If they're within normal parameters and are not offensive I do give them full points. If I like one answer a little better than another I say so by commenting under their answer.

Almost all the time. Sometimes there are things I partially but do not completely agree with. They get partial points.

I give out hundreds of points a day. Every answer represents a contribution, so why shouldn't it have the points? The site grows with every user, who am I to judge what other people want? Points, points, points. Wheeeeee.

probably about 97% of the time. i dont want to be predictable. i usually award 6 points for people who take the time to thoughtfully answer my question as a show of appreciation for their input. on occasion, i will award 5 pts. instead of 6 because i feel some answers are much better than others. i will award maximum points for interesting, thought-provoking Q&A from others also. if someone completely misunderstood my question i will give them 1 point for at least trying to answer it. i will refrain from giving points and on rare occasions downrate someone if they are offensive. the downrates will come with a comment about their insulting behavior.

Unless the answer deserves something lower, usually if the answer has nothing to do with the question they get down rated or a 3 or something.
