  • OK, good for you!
  • Truth is, birds chew. It is their very nature to do so... It is not "natural" for bird to live in a human's house, in and out of a cage... houses are dangerous and, in my opinion, birds should not be allowed free flight. Smacking into a window or mirror at top speed can kill your bird. (Every one who lost a bird that way said "My budgie/parrot/mccaw would NEVER be so dumb to fly into a mirror...") Don't even get me started with ceiling fans (aka Bird-Blenders)... Clipping a birds wings is harmless. It causes no pain (think getting a haircut.) Birds aren't clipped to the point of absolutely no flight, but only to prevent them from gaining altitude. They can safely fly/flutter to the floor if they fall without danger. A clipped bird can still easily manage maneuvers in their cage. If clipped, your bird can be out and enjoy your company with no danger and far fewer trouble-making opportunities. If you take them to a local bird store, avian vet, or breeder, they will clip them for you and show you how... it is relatively easy and usually only costs about $5US per bird...
