I'd say living two hours away from grocery store/hospital...its something I strive for!

No cable TV, no broadband internet coverage, no cell-phone service. There are still places in the US that still only have rotary phone service, no touch tone. There are still places with NO phone service.

What are the boonies? Is that like living in the country instead of the city?

I can't speak for everyone, but for me it was living without pizza delivery and cable TV. When I lived in the boonies, it was also an 11-mile one-way trip to the nearest grocery store. I prefer the city, but that's just me!
