I have a bracelet and want to know what test I can do or how I can find out if the metal is gold or not , thanks cathy.

Well, it could be x-rayed somewhere, I think that shows whether or not something is solid gold, gold plated, or fake gold Also, gold is a relatively soft metal, so if it's bendable with your bare hands, it could easily be gold : P Gold is also heavy, so if the bracelet is light, it's not solid gold, but could be plated, if it's heavy there's a good chance it's gold

There's usually a marking on the underside as to the carat if it is gold... like 14K is 14 carat.
