I am going to an evening wedding and am wondering if it would be appropriate to wear a pair of white linen pants with a black top and black sandals. It is not a black tie wedding.

No, don't wear white!!! It may be old fashioned, and I HATE old fashioned things but I would be pretty upset if anybody wore white to my wedding, evening or not. Pants are fine, but don't wear white to a wedding!!!

i think it sounds fine, in fact very nice. Most weddings ive been to in the last year or so women have worn trousers in the evening, in fact the last on i went to i wore cream trousers with a brown/cream top.

White trousers will be fine. It you wanted to wear any sort of white dress that is when it would cause a problem because the bride is more than likely to wear one or similar. Also, you are attending in the evening only so the dress code is not a strict as during the day. Wear your trousers, it will be absolutely fine.

I like the idea. Personally I think it'd look nicer if it was cream trousers with a brown top and brown sandals. I just think that wearing white might be a risk as it is a wedding. Just check with the bride.
