Absolutely. Just had an aquaintance die within the week from a coke induced heart attack. I'm not gonna preach about just saying No and all that, but cocaine is no joke, and it can kill you. Here's an excerpt from http://healthlink.mcw.edu "There are several ways in which cocaine can cause heart attacks that might result in death: * It can cause the heart to beat so fast that it can't get all the oxygen it needs. * It can cause irregular heartbeats that can lead to cardiac arrest and sudden death. * Cocaine can cause the blood vessels carrying blood to the heart to narrow or close completely. This interrupts the blood supply to the heart and a portion of the heart muscle can die." It can also cause lots of long term heart damge, which you can read up on here: http://healthlink.mcw.edu/article/921033839.html

Yes. check the stats on overdoses of cocaine. it will blow your mind.

Here are some real-life statistics based on SNORTING (yeah, yeah insufflation) Coke. It's a derpy moment, in my book, to discount smoking Crack or injecting Coke as dangerous. Don't mess with the worst and you wont get the worst. Smoking and IV use are different than insufflation - they are both highly over-dosable and especially IV use can result in a QUICK and pretty uncomfortable death. - I know more than a dozen users who have been "addicted" for terms ranging from 6 months - 30 years. Amounts ingested range from 1 gram per week to 3.5 grams per week or more. Everyone snorts or smokes, no one injects so I can't speak anything for that method. How many overdoses in my test group? ZERO. How many failed Nuclear Stress Tests? ZERO (out of three). How many negative health consequences - well... Just like with cigarette smoking, alchohol, or fatty foods - a few. But those negative effects do not include heart attacks. How many lives destroyed? ZERO. I know a few dads who use, a mom who uses, a college student. Everyone I know who uses is middle-class or higher. The reality of use is NOT what derpy people tell you it is. Human toxicity ranges, depending on purity and the body that's using it. Spontaneous cardiac arrest, arryhthmia, and heart attacks can happen BUT (BUT, BUT, BUT) generally only in RARE cases to users who happened to be allergic or have weak nervous systems. YES Cocaine can cause heart attacks. The most important fact is that Cocaine Hydrochloride is a vasoconstrictor (it shrinks blood vessels). The last poster touched on what happens in Cocaine overdoses, but here is a little more information to fill in the blanks. - The vasoconstrictive qualities of Coke cause high blood pressure, which can cause bleeding in the brain, convulsions (the most common form of overdose), and heart arryhthmia. - The convulsions, the pre-heart attack, are the most common form OD. If the over-dose was high enough, the convulsions happen so rapidly the body cannot regain consciousness (R.I.P.). I saw someone have Coke convulsions - no fun. - YES Coke can kill. Should you say no? Please make the decision for yourself. Cocaine can be pleasurable, useful, fun, and correctly used in a normal life. Coke does NOT kill most people (or a vast majority) of people who use it, or who are addicted to it. The statistics will tell you just that (BOO-YAH!). Overdose happens, for Cocaine use, when BAD DECISIONS are made. Those happen when PEOPLE make the decisions, not when the DRUG makes the decisions (not so with Crack, Heroin, or Meth). - YES it causes long term damage. Don't use if you don't want damage (BOO-YAH!). Yep, Cocaine sure can give you a heart attack. Can you snort enough to have one? I can't.

I believe that you can get heart attacks from cocaine!!!
-
Yes, I believe there are documented cases of that happening.
-
Yes. "The risk of heart attack in the first hour after using cocaine is 24 times normal, and cocaine users have a seven-fold lifetime risk of heart attack. Nearly one-fourth of heart attacks in people ages 18 to 45 are cocaine related." Excerpt from this article, here: http://www.med.umich.edu/opm/newspage/2003/cocaineheart.htm.

YES! I lost a very good friend of mine on my birthday from it. Shit is no joke. At his funeral (sorry to be graphic) his chest was poked out because it was from the heart attack. Basically they said his heart just exploded, but they called it a heart attack. He was 17 yrs old.

Yes, i recently had some cocaine and after about an hour i walked upstairs and i had a sharp pain in my shoulder and my left arm went numb, my heart rate sped up and i started panicing, i called an ambulance and spent 15 hours in hospital trying to get my heart rate back to normal, it was going so fast (214 bpm) they got the defibulator ready to use cause they thought it was going to fail. Please dont take cocaine, it was an eyeopener for me and i wouldnt wish anyone else to go through that to realise how bad this drug can be for the wrong people, im healthy and was very lucky my body could cope with what was happening. Take Care X E-mail me anytime if you would like any advice or would like me to tell you a bit more.

Yes. Donny Rodgers and Len Bias both died from cardiac arrest after doing coke just 8 days apart in June, 1986.

Without a doubt.

DenverYay is about as full of crap as you can get. Good luck in the ICU when you get there pal. Do not take Coke. it is a serious drug that can kill you. Have no illusions. I have lost friends to this drug. It does not care if you are middle to upper class or not. That was a unintelligent answer from an obvious user in denial.
