I think it is no worse than it has been. Only a very few people have made everyone afraid, hence the furor over the other 99%.

I welcome legal immigrants with open arms to America. some of my best friends are legal immigrants from countries throughout the world. Noticed i said legal, not illegal. Illegal immigrants are a major problem for the medical profession, the police and citizens of the United States. illegals are committing crimes and adding to the already soaring crime rate. illegals drive automobiles without a drivers license, do not know the rules of the road, drive intoxicated and kill innocent legal immigrants and U.S. citizens. most illegals are filthy, do not speak English, and their government-sponsored housing is gross. Legal immigrants....welcome. Illegal immigrants.....are ruining America.

Immigration is not a problem. People coming to the U.S. illegally is not immigration, it's invasion. Big problem.
