Say, "I'm sorry. That was inappropriate. I just feel so comfortable with you." Unless what you did was dreadful! In that case, say you're sorry and go home.

You say sorry and then spend the rest of the date feeling awkward. The rescue part comes when you have run out of things to say and, still feeling acutely embarrassed, make your excuses and leave (thus saving yourself from the longest night of your life). Then you go home and worry about it.
