  • Bud Light. That doesn't really answer the question does it?.?.
  • Champagne is a type of sparkling wine. It can only be called champagne if it was produced in the Champagne area of France. Any other sparkling wine (even if produced with the exact same variety of grape) must go by another name. So -- I say sparkling wine. :)
  • whats the difference? lol
  • Dom Perignon Champagne if not Krystal Krug.
  • Champagne till my money runs out than sparking wine! LOL
  • Depends on the label... but I tend to lean towards Champagne... but I will raise my glass for either!!
  • I agree with theredbaron regarding the apellation - it's only "champagne" if it is grown, cultivated, and bottled in the Champagne Region of France. I disagree, however, with gurleeprep13, there is a difference. The brands of champagne are well known - if you don't know them, walk into any wine store and ask. They'll be happy to help. For a great sparkling wine, I recommend Shramsburg. Try the Demi-Sec with dessert (like angel food cake). The nice thing about any sparkling wine (Champagne or not) is that it can match well with any dinner entree. So, for example, if he's having fish and you're having a juicy Porterhouse, why not save on the dinner wine (and, for that matter, the dessert wine) and order a bottle of Scramsburg Brut ($30)? Goes well with the entrees and the sweets - saves on both ends and tastes great!
  • Champagne!!! Try all that you can, and I recommend that you save your nickles and dimes and twenties, and buy a VERY good bottle to lay up for a few years. Keep it cool if you can, away from temperature swings, my first was in the closet near the center of my apartment. There is a huge difference in bubbles and you generally get what you pay for. Watch the vintage charts, and try to hold a great bottle 'till it is around twenty years old. You'll appreciate the effort.
  • I prefer Asti Spumante to Champagne, it is less dry.
