  • No, you do not automatically have mononucleosis. As with other infectious diseases, not everybody is susceptible to it, and transmission between individuals does not always occur. However, there is obviously a certain risk of having acquired it, and because there is quite a long latent period where no symptoms are shown, it can be quite hard to determine whether you have been infected without a blood test.
