Good question. I have NO idea... let me go check. OK so I went back to check and the first question I asked was about my japanese cousin knowing about our pop-culture but I doubt I was searching for that and my first answer was the first concert I ever went to... also doubt I was searching for that.

I don't remember exactly, but I remember I was googling something, and AB was the first link. I checked it out, got the answer to whatever I was googling, and was basically sucked in!

I performed a Google search on an XBox game, looking for more information. I wasn't finding too much. AB was about the 15th item. I registered but did little in the first week. After that, I got addicted.

A factual answer to a factual question. I got a response after two days. I started asking more questions and answering some more... the rest is history.

I used to be an "expert" on ASKME.com until they sold out and the new owners made a change ... they used to be free to ask and they used to take a slice of the advertising income and pay the top 500 experts no matter where in the world they were ... now they charge for answers and only pay the top 100 experts BUT they ALL must be in the U.S.A., ... I was looking for another similar site where I could both learn & teach ...

A reason to live. And by god, I think I found it. ;-)

I was looking for an answer site that was not riddled by trolls and that had admin that actually addressed member's issues. I had just given up the fight with Ya-Poo Answers and the stalker after me at that website. So far, I think Answerbag is what I believed it to be because I see relatively few trolls here, so far, and when I had a problem and wrote to the admin, it was dealt with. If it turns out that I am wrong in my assessment of Answerbag, I leave and go somewhere else.

I was just looking for something to pass the time and stimulate my then dying brain. I had been in an intellectual limbo for years. I found that and much, much more.

I was looking for information on a band from the very late 70's/early 80's, 'Wilmot Langenkopf'. I found nothing so asked a question about it. While I was waiting (and I still am) I ran round the site and have been here off and on ever since.
