  • First of all, "fat" is probably more impolite/disrespectful than "big". If you are "chubby" you are more contained inside your skin/clothes instead of being "fat" or "big" you would be like drooping. Example for men, they would have like skin boobs and stuff.
  • 'Big' is subjective. If someone's fat, you can tell - unless the person calling you fat has an agenda. The word 'big' usually says more about the person using it than the person who it's being applied to.
  • There are actual definitions for over weight and obese, but things like fat, chubby and big, are more individualized opinions. What one person may think is fat, another may just see a little pudge.
  • tall + fat = big
