Personally I find feedback more effective, though I do feel sorry for Rich when I feedback it because he has to sort it. If I flag the question the flag always seems to be rejected on the grounds of ''suitable answer'' or some form of that. The mods don't seem to actually take a look at the page the answer is on. That's not the official policy, I don't know what is, but just my experience :-)

I think the best way to handle this is to edit the second answer down to a single period ('.'). That lets moderating users know they can clean it up and win a few quick points.

What I do is to award points to the answer that was posted first even if I don't care for the answer. This isolates that question from the others that I don't give points to & I procede to flag the duplicate answers as nonsense. I believe this lets the administrators realize that I am just trying to remove extra debris because someone was so impatient to see their answer being posted that they had to make multiple submits. I too was guilty of this when I was new to the AB site.

i say do nothing, because its rare and is not worth any extra effort

If you type on the second answer. "Please flag this ", then the moderators know that the person flagging is not making an error by flagging them as nonsense . That is what Rich told us to flag them as until they put in a dupe. button which seems longer in coming than a lot of other things. Apparently it is in the pipeline. This method does not seem to work every time because some mods. do not seem to have been told and just refuse to remove the Dupe answer saying it is not nonsense, That is why I type "Please Flag"

No need for feedback here, I think. If it were one of my own answers, I would edit the answer to ";" and write in a comment "Please flag this answer as nonsense". If it were someone else's answer, I would flag the answer as nonsense *and* write in a comment something like: "Duplicate answer." and maybe also "Please edit your answer and change the text to ";" to make it easier for a flagging as nonsense to be accepted". I suppose this could be understood by a moderator. And if not, I would at least have tried...
