skateboarding is an artform, its style, its art everyone that does it has their own way, its an escape from reality were its just you and your board. Its not a sport and dosent belong in the olympics or the extreme games.

Yes--I think it requires skill and coordination. I think of it as an individual sport, though of course. So if you're talking aobut "team" definition of sports--I think this wouldn't pass. Look at all the individual competitive sports out there: golf, (almost, tennis), swimming, track, field, you name it. Many different people have different tricks or talents that are displayed on the half-pipe and truly--not everyone can do what Tony Hawk does. It's pretty unique, and requires training, athletic fortitude, and stamina.

I don't know whether it could be classified as a sport or not, but it does take a GREAT deal of talent, I believe. I couldn't do it.....EVER! And, skateboarders, the good ones anyway, are very interesting and entertaining to watch.

sport-Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. skateboarding doesn't involve rules. its just having fun with what surrounds you.

If it wasn't a sport why would they have it on T.V. under the X - Games? Although many people refer to skateboarding to not be a sport but if your asking my opinion then YES IT IS A SPORT.

Yes, I would. I admire those guys who spend a great deal of time on skateboard training both in skill and strength and finish those fantastic movements.
