Well, that depends. If the label has only been on the tape for a short amount of time, it should peel of in one or two pieces. However, if the label has been stuck on the tape for years, it won't come off very easily because the glue dries out. I peeled a label off a tape that was on it for 13 years, but it was almost impossible. It must have taken 30 peels. I think it would make your life a lot easier if you just stuck a new label over the old one to re-label your tape. If you search for a label website on google, you can order VHS spine labels very easily. I hope this helps.
