like other pokemon games u need some sort of link and the place to link is the pokemoncenter

Because its a DS game, you can trade wirless! Just go upstairs of a Pokecenter and go into the union room with a friend! But you cant go like halfway round the world on wireless! For that you need Wi-fi.
