Why do you assume we all have the same government? As for your question, all governments are hypocrytical and contradictive! The american government may very well be the worst of the bunch, but they are certainly not an exception!

That is the least of the US Governments sins on Global Warming, they will not bring down emissions as all other countries in the Western world are trying to do, they will not hold to the treaty that other governments are forcing on their nationals. When you have to pay nearly $10 a gallon of gas and the excuse is to try to help with Global Warming, by stopping us driving so much.Of course the high cost of fuel makes The UK the second most expensive country in the world after Japan. That is just one of our nicer measures Of course this is not helped by the Industrialisation of the East, but no excuse for Americas lack of effort.
