No. Money is just a symbol of the value of the goods a society produces. A one hundred dollar bill has the exact same value as a $1 bill, except for a few more zero's that indicate it is worth more. (It is just a piece of paper) If we didn't have money, we would trade and barter with each other with goods, commodities, and services, like they did long ago. A society functions due to the hard work, industriousness, and sense of community of it's citizens. Actual money has little to do with it.

actually as its already been said by a few people on here your quote has been mistranslated. the ancient saying is actually the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. so if translated correctly its a whole different meaning. its not money that is bad. its peoples greed.

It helps if you quote the WHOLE verse: the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. It isn't money itself. It is when you turn that money into an idol and make it more important than God and your fellow man.

1 Timothy 6:10 " For the LOVE of money is the root of all evil". That quote is often stated inaccurately. It is not money that is the problem with society, but rather what society does with their money. Money has no feelings just as bricks have no feelings. if you throw a brick thru a window it isn't the bricks fault. If you take bricks and build a learning center for children it wasn't the bricks that did something good for society, rather the person who chose to do the deed.
