I have a 1973 Starcraft 15' 2" fishing boat with a 40 hp Johnson motor. The floor is rotten and needs to be replabed in it. How do I remove the old floor? What will I find underneth it? Can I just put new marine wood floor over the old rotten floor?

Doc, I reckon you're thinking of bivalves, in a term that you might be more familiar, mollusks ,as to what you posted first. No one I've ever met that deals with 'em has ever called them "sea valves". Sand pigeons, the other black gold, sand f*&^ers and a whack of other terms, but never sea valves. Mollusks aren't limited to sea water. Fresh too.

Errr, additionally, you may be thinking of tidal turbines and wave action generators for the energy part of your answer. Sea valves as far as rigs are concerned, yes, they have them. The same as a sea cock. The purpose on a floating rig, to flood or empty the pontoons on a sea going derrick. For their dramatic effect, google " Ocean Ranger".
