Help answer this question below.
Nope, its not easy, but it is not hard. But it does depend on what type of skiing you mean, cross country is VERY easy, downhill is harder just because of the speeds you get to, you will get scared and you will loose your balance, a few days of skiing is normally enough to be ok at it.
If you are thinking of trying to become seriously good/professional then it probably is too late. You could get very good if you practise ALOT, but to be a pro you generally need to have started pre-teen.
Personally though, I would say go snowboarding, its alot more fun imo and just as hard/easy to learn.
I learned to ski when I was nearly 40, I did find it really difficult to begin with but now I really enjoy it and can negotiate most black runs. Perhaps these websites below will help you better with the answer.
But if you are going to learn make sure you go somewhere that is really geared up for beginners.

I don't think so, as long as you have a good teacher.
By the end of the first day, you'll have the hang of it.
yeah but it all depends on how active you were when you were young, and how active you are now. but i promise snowboarding is harder
