  • It sets the mood for me. Whatever mood I'm in, that's the type I listen to.
  • Many reaons: It moves me, It provokes emotions in me, It lifts my spirits up, it relaxes me, etc. Funny thing is I don't focus that much on the lyrics, the musicality is what draws me to a song or composition, the vibe of whatever the artist is trying to convey.
  • Cause it makes me feel good, when I hear my favorite song I am a happy person.

  • usually its just background noise, it could be the news or a talk show or music its fills the void of silence when I don t need silence.
  • Because music inspires and moves me. It pulls my emotions out of wherever they're sleeping and puts them in the front of my brain where I can FEEL those emotions. I can't always cry when I'm sad or dance around when I feel ecstatically happy, but with music, I'm -- ON. Music is better than any drug in terms of sheer power to evoke emotion.
  • Music is my escape. Whenever I feel like I can't cope, I put on some music, or play my guitar and I just seem to cope better. Music can sometimes express emotion so much better than words. Music is my comfort when I need something to soothe me...
  • I listen to Music, because Music to Background noise, is Rich delicious food to sand, Silk to sandpaper, Art for the ears. It is pleasant. Why WOULDNT you listen to music?
  • I come from six generations of performers. There was never a waking moment in our house when someone wasn't singing, or a radio wasn't sounding, or a record wasn't playing. My parents sang us to sleep when we were small, and we sang ourselves when we were older. My brother and I would sing through the walls of our bedrooms to each other until we were told to go to sleep. Family gatherings always included my mother and at least two sisters up on a table doing Andrews' sisters medleys. Harmonies came as naturally as melodies. My brother and I bought our first record when I was 9, but I can remember songs from years before that. He joined his first band when he was 13, and 3 years later I was asked to audition for vocalist. I chickened out, but went on to form a duo with a friend at 16. We won the Folk Section of a local Eisteddford a year later. Since then, I have been performing semi-professionally. My elder daughter is a vocalist and musician...it goes on...we can't operate without music. It gets us through the bad times and helps us celebrate the good ones. We punctuate our conversations with lines from songs...can't stop the music in our heads, our hearts, and on our lips.
