Or riding without a seat :]

Tour de France or around the park?

It can do, if you're not careful. Wear a helmet at all times and be conscious of all approaching pedestrians and cars. The German vocalist Nico died in the mid-eighties after falling off a bicycle without a helmet.

I think that would depend on what type of riding you plan to do. Recreational biking shouldn't pose any risk to your health, but competitive bike riding may not be without it's problems. I would think it would depend on how often you ride and whether the bicycle fits your body and cycling needs.

In order of importance, Genital, neck, wrist, shoulder, and sometimes knees. Pain in any of these will discourage you from this excellent exercise, and you may die way too soon without exercise. (THERE's A medical problem). A saddle that does NOT pressure a vein or two is most important. 9/3/08
