  • I don't see any Stableboy. I tried it on my car, but nothing happened. It started to shine for a while, but it wore out after a few hours later.
  • Other than briefly making the shiny car shinier, I haven't noticed any difference at all. Bu the time I've driven around it gone. I think all it is is a water-resistant coating but it doesn't seem to protect the car from anything, not dirt or bird poop or tree poop.
  • I've been wondering for years. Maybe Consumer Reports will jump on this like they did on golf balls. THAT was a surprise.
  • The best of them cause the water to bead up and some smell alright. But is it super soft water? Some type silicone additive? Not very long lasting at best but I still on the better units spring for it. It makes me feel a little better and that is priceless.
  • I think that it does actually help to a degree between hand waxes. I've noticed that the paint seems to keep it's high gloss longer. One thing that I will NOT do is run my car through any automatic wash that is not completely brushless. I don't care how gentle they claim that their brushes are, THEY DO SCRATCH the clearcoat and can cause pemanent damge.I use the Touchless washes Only !
  • I think they are scamming us
  • It sure makes the water bead off of my truck when I get that treatment. How long it lasts is another question. I have not paid that much attention. I am certain it is not as good of a "wax-job" as one can do with a high quality auto wax, but it sure is a lot easier and that is what the world is all about these days it seems............
  • Yeah, it gets another $2 out of your pocket!
  • Well im my experiences, owning a 1978 Pontiac Trans-AM, yes. Once I had just gotten my car washed at one of those SHELL GAS STATION CAR WASHES, and I didnt think it did anything either. But later on that night I was on my way to pick up my girlfriend and it started to rain! And the wind-sheild isnt the best on my car but the rain started to beed up and when i was moving it blew off the wind-sheil and kind of helped my vision a little bit... but I was a little pissed of to see that my car had water spots on the fenders the next morning! You better of going home and waxing it yourself! THAT NEW CLEAR WAX BY TURTAL WAX WORKS WONDERS!!
  • i usually only do it if i have extra time left on the self service wash.
  • It makes them rich.
  • Yup! I think it adds a few dollars on your service charge(tee-hee)
  • Yes it does actually! It makes the water bead off the car easier so that it dries cleaner and the next time it rains your car wont get dirty as fast.
