  • The local Yacht club is the best bet. They are always looking for crew . Also local newspapers have adverts from sailing schools. Or look up the schools in your local newspaper.
  • First i would take a boaters safety course given by the coast guard or power squadron. I am not sure what sate you live in but you probably need a boaters license if you do not have one already. Check out this link about the Power Squadron boating courses: http://www.usps.org/e_stuff/Basic.html Now about actually learning how to drive the boat itself on the water. First i would ask around a dock or any boaters you already know to see if they know any USCG certified Captains. The best way to learn is to higher a Captain to come aboard your boat and go out with you, and show you the ropes. A few sessions with a captain will help out out a lot. If you dont have any boater friends or none of your boater friends no captains fore hire in your area then check out this link: http://home.maine.rr.com/captainsforhire/
