Invest in central air.
-
Use fans to move the air around. If you have central air make sure the vents in all the rooms are open and air is coming out. Check & make sure you have no windows etc open. If you're getting much more airflow in the family room than other rooms close the family room vent part or all the way and see if that makes more air come out the other vents.

Sometimes It's better to have seperate units on each end of the house , rather than just one. We have three seperate central heat-a/c units in our home .Depending upon the layout, square footage, and ceiling heights of your home, one unit, no matter the tonage, may not be able to circulate enough air volume to heat/cool it.

If the weather is hot enough, in your back rooms, open some windows.

you could get a screen door.

you may want to look at the locations of the RETURN grilles (and/or add additional locations) Ideal is to have return air in every room and if possible to have return at high and low level (for season changes), the return air plays a big role in the system.
