  • I'm not sure about carrier restrictions, but your starting point should be looking for a carrier that's GSM-based. I know Cingular and T-Mobile are two such carriers.
  • As far as i am aware US only runs Quad band technology? any GSM carrier will sell SIM cards but you may have to check before buying that the phone is not locked to only work with a certain carrier's SIM. hope that helps!
  • The U.S. and Canada uses 800/850mhz and 1900mhz on GSM and the rest or the world uses 900mhz and 1800mhz. Quad band only refers to which areas the phone will work in. A Quad band phone will work anywhere in the world. You just need to know what works where you live. The best place to go is www.gsmworld.com, and to know exactly what your phone can do, go to www.phonescoop.com. Also, make sure that your phone is unlocked to receive a SIM card from another carrier.
