  • Roosters don't lay eggs, silly. But, if it did, there's no way to tell which way it would fall unless we know the direction of the wind and the exact placement of the egg.
  • Roosters don't lay eggs! "A rooster or cock is a male chicken, (Gallus gallus) the female being a hen." Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooster

  • Well, your question specifies that a rooster CAN lay an egg, because it presupposes that this one rooster could. An unusual chicken, and obviously gender confused. Since this egg comes out of this rather peculiar rooster's backside, the answer has to be the back side.
  • Then I would say that the egg would simply float up because for that to work one would have to be in an alternate reality, because roosters don't lay eggs in this one!
  • The popular answer to this question, "roosters don't lay eggs," is misapplied because the question states "if." Many assumptions need to be made in order to create a defensible answer for this question. Unfortunately, the hypothetical nature combine with the lack of clarity in the question, relegates any given answer to the status of opinion. Stating that, I will offer mine. I will assume that the pyramids in question are the most popular of the world's pyramids in Egypt, specifically the Great Pyramid of Giza (2570-2135 BC). The first evidence of any chicken present in Egypt dates to the XIX Dynasty (1911-1775 BC). By this time, the cap stone of the Great Pyramid had been removed providing plenty of space for an egg to be laid. In this scenario the egg would not fall off of any side of the pyramid, rather it would sit atop the pyramid. This of course assumes that there are no extenuating factors such as a sandstorm.
  • Depends on which pyramid. The ones in Mesoamerica are flat at the top so no falling would occur. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesoamerican_pyramids
  • Roosters don't lay eggs.
  • None Roosters do not lay eggs.
  • IF a rooster acually was able to lay an egg, it would be a miracle ... and as a miracle egg, God would not let it fall, it would stay on the top of the pyramid untill the holy chick was hatched. Then the holy chick could decide which side to go down.
  • Rooster's eggs are in the cubical, so clearly, they wouldn't roll! Just kidding. Are you in first grade, or do you think we would fall for such an old riddle?
