What do you think about/how do you feel about animals being in a zoo?

I have mixed feelings. I enjoy being able to see animals that I would never have a chance to see, but I feel bad sometimes that they can't be free. There are many animals that wouldn't survive in the wild or were saved by zoos.

i do go to zoos but every time i go i end up with the same sad feelings. i know the zoos try to make their habitats as natural as possible but i still feel that it is so unnatural for the animals. i also understand that zoos have saved a lot of animals from extinction - for which i am very grateful. but i cannot help looking at the animals and feeling that they 'look sad'.
