I can't answer for everyone over in the States, but I can speak for myself and the people I know who do, so that would be "No, the British are not the only people who habitually use insults as terms of endearment for their friends-- there are at least 7 people in the United States who do, as well..."
  • You silly cow, other cultures use insults to show their bloody affection!
  • People in the United States also do that. Some girls my son's age even call each other 'Bitch' and 'Ho', telling me they are just kidding around and do not mean it in an insulting way. Also, I hear others called "Stupid" and other derogatory terms in a joking or endearing fashion oftentimes.
