a small college town where counter-culture IS THE CULTURE! i think it's fun & the beach is about and hour & a half away. you can ride four wheelers on part of the beach, too! so, yeah... it might be good for a vaca. there's a nudist park there too, if that's up your alley.

I don't really like Eugene that much... I would rather go to portland, bend, or florence on a holiday then Eugene!

I lived in Eugene, OR when I was a child and thought it was very pretty. I want to go back there sometime and see it as an adult. Let us know how you liked it when you go!

there is not really alot to do in Eugene, however a little farther north is Portland, I was born and raised there. there is allways something different to do there, like the saturday market. As far as vacations, I would reccomend Newport Bay. Very nice and laid back people, great restauraunts, and reasonable lodgings.

30 square miles surrounded by reality, as the Republicans put it. Or the Lesbian capital of the Pacific Northwest, as the "god's gift to women" put it. It's different. The rain is nice, it's cool in the winter, and mild in the summer. When it gets hot in the day, it always cools off at night. A hundred during the day time? Bring a jacket for any night time work. A trigger happy police force who refuse to face any public scrutiny. No sales tax, despite many calls to the different. The Oregon Bach festival, a local wine tasting tour, The track and meet festivals. Close to the mountains for hiking, hot springing, hunting and fishing. And close to the ocean, for surfing, swimming, fishing, and going to Sea Lion's cave. The northwest raptor center. A nice local counter culture, plenty of body piercing joints, used book stores up the gump stump, and it's perfectly legal for women to walk around topless. I even have had a carwash done by a trio of topless young ladies a couple of times. <heavy sigh> Pink Tourmalines.
