I forgot to switch my mod chip off before going to XboxLive. Now I get a message similar to "software or hardware may have been modified." How can I fix this?

  I made a big mistake. I installed a v1.5 motherboard into a v1.6 case. I did not realize there was a difference. The 1.6 has an extra ground pin on the base, which shorted my 1.5 board. It does not power up at all now. Is it fixable or trash now? HELP.
