If your fish tank is shaped as a cube [where the length, width, and height dimensions of the tank are equal] or box [where the length, width, and height dimensions of the tank are different], then all you have to do is: 1) measure the dimensions (length, width, and height) of the tank 2) multiply each of these three dimensions together 3) the answer you get will be the volume of water your tank can hold in *cubic inches* 4) go to http://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter/ with the answer from step #3 5) in the navigation bar in this page's left pane click on "Volume" 6) in the right pane of the page, enter the number from step #3 in the text box under "Input" and in the drop-down menu next to the text box select "cubic inches" 7) in the drop-down menu under "Output" click on "gallons, liquid (US)" 8) the final number of gallons you get will be in the text box to the left of the drop-down menu from step #7 Hope this helps!
