I've written this answer many times and said the following phrase many times: "I've lost count as to how many times I've answered this question..." This is starting to wear me down. Drop the fuel tank Use a screwdriver and hammer to lightly disengage the ring locking in the sending unit. Carefully remove the sending unit containing the guage mechanism, fuel filter and fuel pump. Remove the filter and pump. Replace both (mineswell change the filter at the same time) Return to tank Re-engage ring Mount fuel tank Fill tank Start car
