I'm not sure but I hope it is a good tough one, no reason should an adult be hitting on a minor, if it is just a difference in a year or so, the legal adult should have thought about the conciquinces.

A joke. Most of the time they get a plea deal and probation for a year. The only time anythings really done is if they kill the kid.

I would love to say... They are put in a room with adults who were abused as children, who are allowed to do the same thing to said offender. You know and eye for and eye! Unfortunately, pasobrio is right. Not enough is done to those who hurt children. Somewhere, right this minute, a child is being neglected and abused, yet what is on the news. OMG, Paris is going to jail. This world is a very sad place we live in.

Let hope it is a minimum of 10 years in your state, or the state of the perpetrator

Depends on the circumstance of the assault. any assault on a child is serious business. They may give you three years controlled probation.

In California, "willful cruelty to a child" is punishable by a low-term of 2 years imprisonment, a mid-term of 4, or a high-term of 6 years. The judge has the discretion regarding which of the terms to impose.

if the assault took place on US government land & the charges went federal (military base, national park, post office, etc...), then chances are ten years minimum. if the assault took place anywhere else, the case will probably go state, in which case maybe less time, maybe more - depending on which state, county, city, etc... it was in, and what level of attorney is prosecuting the case. and ultimately, what sentence the judge or the jury deems appropriate.
