Oh my, you make it sound like ancient history -- like asking what was it like living during the Black Plague! It wasn't terribly different than now, except for the technological advances. PCs were more of a luxury item, many cars still used leaded gas, microwaves were new as well as VCRs, you actually had to go inside a bank to get cash, and people with HIV/AIDS died from it because the drug cocktails hadn't been developed. Oh, and we went from being petrified of the Soviets and their nukes to just wanting to be friends. And, hey, Madonna was the queen of the entertainment world.
