It seems like it won more for originality than quality.

1) go to the book department of you supermarkt or on amazon and you will see how many non literature books you find there: Cooking, hobbies, home & garden, sport, travel, calender, games (sudoku, crosswords) 2) It is their choice to choose any sort of books. I informed myself about this work. It has excellent critiques. I would rather qualify it as a graphic novel. I think the jury's idea was that he had managed a work of exceptional quality that could say more without words that many do using them. And the sequence of images tell a story.
