Well, I've flagged a few and had a few denied, but most have been approved. I flag ones that are vulgar, odd, offensive, or impossible to answer. (For the 'impossible to answer' category an example would be the one I say with '1999 Ford Taurus spark plug'). I use the feature sparingly. Maybe try cutting back? Hard to say. Plus, looking at your profile you have 100 moderation points. That tells me that you've had 20 flags approved out of 26 submissions. I don't see why you complain...

Personal attacks seem like the kind of questions that SHOULD be flagged. I'm not sure about inflammatory, though. Can you give an example? Instead of flagging, you might want to try giving feedback and explaining the reasons you think the question's inflammatory. Just a thought.

I have to agree with you. I have been flagging questions ever since they introduced the feature. I have flagged as nonsense, offensive and duplicates. I find that more of my flags are being rejected now than previously, especially the offensive flags. Maybe they have assigned the task to a different moderator who has more flexible standards about what constitutes offensive and nonsense. The Terms of Use do say: By using the Site, you agree heartily not to do any of the following: Publish on this Site any information or other material ("Content") that is unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise injurious to third parties; Note that the word 'offensive' does not appear but the open-ended words 'harmful' and 'inflammatory' do appear and I believe that 'offensive' would be covered by either one of those. For example, there was a question the other day 'Why is God stupid?' which I flagged as offensive. This flag was rejected for the following reason: The flag was not accepted because: Answers can and have addressed the potentially offensive nature of this question. Why is there even a flag for 'offensive' if it will be dealt with by the answers????

geek860 has just pointed out I am wrong. I didn't realize I had so many approved. I only get emails about the rejected ones so I assumed they were all rejected. My apologies to the AB moderators.

you know, i was wondering the same thing a few days ago. i've only flagged one question, i guess i always think someone else will get to it.. but i flagged one and got that email that said, "thanks, but we don't think this is offensive." and then a few days ago, i noticed that now, instead of 0% percent, i now have 100% on the moderation chart. which makes me wonder if something is "not offensive" until enough people think that it is... and if that is the case, that's not the best way of handling offensive questions. if it makes you feel any better i'm going to go flag that question you posted a link to as well, about god letting little girls be raped. perhaps if enough people flag it, they'll realize that it really is offensive.

That's because you are a human being and a dang fine one at that.
